According to the Associated Press, former NFL player Jake Bequette has announced that he is “challenging Arkansas Sen. John Boozman in next year’s Republican primary.”
The announcement was made on Monday. Bequette is an Army veteran and former Razorbacks player. “He launched his bid with an online video touting his football and military background.” The 32-year-old played three games for the New England Patriots in 2012 and five games the next season.
In the ad, Bequette said that what is happening “in Washington these days is a disgrace. Democrats have been taken over by radical socialists, and too many Republicans just go along to get along.” The ad features images of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and New York Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.
