The Marion County Sheriff's Office announces the arrest of an individual involved with an area home owners association.

Marion County Sheriff Gregg Alexander reports Misty Treat 46, of Oakland has been arrested and charged with two (2) counts of Theft of Property, one (1) Class "C" felony and one (1) Class "D" felony, and one (1) count of Forgery a Class "C" Felony, after an investigation by his department.
Sheriff Alexander advised the investigation was opened on January 31, 2025, and involved a review of several complaints brought forward to his office related to the Oakland Area Improvement Association (OAIA) that allegedly occurred from 2021-2024. Sheriff Alexander reported that Treat was arrested by deputies, transported to the Sheriff's Office, and booked into the Marion County Detention Center (MCDC) on her charges. She posted a $2,500 bond and was released pending a court date in Marion County Circuit Court.
