Charges are now filed in the shooting incident earlier this week that injured a woman.
Matthew Washington of Crane is facing five felony charges related to the incident that happened Monday in Crane. According to the probable cause affidavit, Washington and a friend had been at a residence in Crane when Washington and the friend’s mother stepped outside to smoke a cigarette when they argued and Washington shot the victim. Washington also beat her with an object before the son was able to get his mother inside and Washington eventually fled. He was captured Tuesday morning.
Washington is being held without bond in the Stone County Jail.
