The City of Flippin is continuing its centennial celebration with two activities this week.
The first event is set for Friday with a ghost walk. The Marion County Historical Society and the Flippin High School drama class have collaborated to bring a ghost walk historical tour presenting the people and places of Flippin.
The tour will start at the old Sodie’s depot building at 6 p.m., with several stops along the way and ending at Flippin City Hall with refreshments and the unveiling of a new historical mural inside.
Then on Saturday, the community is invited to celebrate the city’s centennial anniversary. Flippin officially became a city in 1921.
City event organizers have planned a celebration from 2 to 7 p.m. in Hickey Park. Attendees are encouraged to bring their lawn chairs and blankets for a fun afternoon.
The schedule includes:
Food trucks and vendors;
2 p.m. – cornhole tournament – register that day or on Scoreholio App;
2 p.m. – Lucan Tyler live band;
2 – 6 p.m. – games, bounce houses and face painting;
4 p.m. – cupcakes to the first 300 guests and commemorative photo-op (wear red); and
5 – 7 p.m. – David Rasico & TK Cowboy Dueling Pianos live music.
Vendors are asked to complete a registration form and return it to Flippin City Hall. There is no charge to be a vendor for this event. No additional food vendors are needed.
