Fatal Motorcycle Crash In Newton County

One person is dead and another injured in a motorcycle crash in Newton County.

According to the report from the Arkansas State Police, 56-year-old Anthony Carillo from Russellville was driving his motorcycle on Highway 7 near Jasper when it left the highway and overturned ejecting both Carillo and a passenger on the motorcycle.

Carillo died in the crash while the passenger, a 49-year-old woman from California, was taken to Cox South Hospital in Springfield for treatment of her injuries.

Conditions were clear and dry at the time of the Saturday morning crash according to the ASP Report.

312 have died in traffic crashes reported to the Arkansas State Police in 2026.
