The recent cold weather has forced area farmers to take measures to keep their farms going during the inclement weather.
Several farmers talk about the weather during an Ozarks First feature report, indicating that simple tasks take longer during cold temperatures and while cattle can generally take the colder temperatures, they require more food to help fend off the cold.
Farmers that also sell firewood indicate that the colder temperatures actually help their business with increased demand and some fruit plants benefit from some chill time during the winter.
The entire feature can be seen on the Ozarks First Website.
