The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has issued a travel warning ahead of the April 8 eclipse. The administration is alerting pilots to be prepared for operational changes, along with higher-than-normal travelers along the eclipse path. 13 states, including Missouri and Arkansas, will be along the path of totality.
The warnings state aircraft should be prepared for “potential airborne holding, reroutes, and/or expect departure delays.” The delays may be an issue for all domestic arrivals and departures.
The FAA said NASA would be assisting them as it plans for the date. As the date approaches, the FAA said it could limit or cancel practice, approaches, touch-and-goes and pilot training operations at the airports in the path of the eclipse.
