A man from Gainesville who escaped from a Prison Work Detail last week in Central Missouri is captured after returning to Ozark County while two other people are arrested in connection with the case.
Jason Laird had been on a work detail at the Missouri State Fairgrounds in Sedalia last week when he got away from the detail, stole a vehicle, and escaped.
According to a post on the Ozark County Sheriff's Facebook Page, Laird was spotted in the area and after searching several locations in the region, was taken into custody. Two other people, Kandace Newton and Alvin Searcy, were arrested on charges including hindering prosecution and harboring a fugitive.
Laird has been returned to the Missouri Department of Corrections.
