Five area agencies team-up to rescue a hiker from a remote area Saturday.
The release below is from Branson Fire Rescue:
Branson Fire Rescue responded to a technical rescue incident today involving an injured hiker in a remote area.
Due to the terrain, crews from all four Branson Fire Rescue stations worked alongside the Branson Police Department, Taney County Ambulance District, Missouri Department of Conservation, and Mercy Lifeline to safely reach and assist the individual. Firefighters had to clear a path through heavily wooded terrain and establish a rope system to move the patient to a safer location.
The patient sustained serious injuries and was experiencing respiratory distress. Due to the remote location, crews coordinated a water transport to a designated landing zone, where the patient was transferred to Mercy Lifeline for further care.
We are grateful for the strong coordination between agencies that made this rescue possible and for the dedication of all responders involved.
Branson Fire Rescue encourages everyone to use caution when enjoying area trails.
Please be mindful of changing terrain, stay on marked paths, wear appropriate footwear, and let someone know your plans before heading out.
Taking a few extra precautions can make a significant difference in your safety.
