Drought Still in Lakes Region but Decreasing

Maps courtesy U.S. Drought Monitor

The latest information from the U.S. Drought Monitor still has the Lakes Region at various levels of drought.

The information was finalized Tuesday morning, before a heavy round of precipitation dumped over four inches of rain in some areas.
According to the current data, the area northeast of a Kimberling City- Branson-Harrison line remains at a Severe Drought Level while the rest of the region is either at a Moderate Level or Abnormally Dry.

The biggest impact from the recent rains has been river and stream levels that have seen a big jump upward in the last few days.

No rain and moderate temperatures are in the forecast for the next seven days.
