Nonprofit organization Taking Off Pounds Sensibly (TOPS) is all about effective weight loss, according to program graduate Donna Dodrill.
Dodrill appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" to discuss the program. She explained that it focuses on knocking the pounds off without overdoing it and risking putting the old weight and new pounds back on. She highlighted an important key.
She said one's mindset is important, and that knowledge on how to keep the weight from creeping back. That's the same thing Dodrill has done.
"I've lost the weight, and I have to be aware of what I'm eating, when I'm eating," she said. Later, she credited accountability as part of her success.
Her success has received praise from TOPS. "I won statewide queen for 2023 for losing over 80 pounds and keeping it off," Dodrill said.
She revealed that when she started the program, she weighed 243 pounds. She said was content with being overweight before.
But now that the weight is gone, she's making sure it doesn't return. More information about TOPS is on the organization's website. The rest of Dodrill's story and more is on the broadcast.
The full interview with Dodrill is on the "Around The Table" Facebook Page.
