A body was discovered after an early morning structure fire in Flippin. The fire reportedly occurred Saturday at the U-Haul dealership located on Main Street.
According to Flippin Fire Chief Glen Chapman, personnel responded to the fire just before 2:30 and were on the scene for nearly 2 1/2 hours. One person was pronounced dead, and another was at the structure when the fire occurred. Chapman says the survivor was checked by personnel at the scene and later released.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but Chapman says no foul play is suspected. The body of the deceased victim is being sent to the Arkansas State Medical Examiner’s Office in Little Rock to determine the identity and cause of death.
The Flippin Fire Department was assisted on the scene by the Fairview, Yellville and Summit fire departments, the Flippin Police Department, the Marion County Sheriff’s Office and the Marion County coroner.
