Death Investigation Underway in Marion County

A body is discovered in the remnants of a structure fire in Marion County last week.

According to the release from Marion County Sheriff Gregg Alexander says that last Monday evening, a structure fire was reported near Pyatt on Marion County Road 3015. After the blaze was extinguished, firefighters discovered a person deceased in the residence. The body of the victim will be taken to the State Medical Examiner's Office for identification. 

Alexander states in the release that the investigation into the fire and death is continuing and further information will be released when available.
