Day One Hope Center is a substance abuse treatment center that will open their Connected Recovery residential stay and intensive outpatient space in Boone County.
The man behind that center is Andy Hearn. He appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" on Wednesday to talk about it. This field is his passion.
While Boone County has sober living services, he wants to fill the gap. Recovery comes in stages. It doesn't begin with sober living.
He said it should go like this: medical detox, residential stay or rehab, intensive outpatient and then sober living. Hearn said while he applauds those undergoing sober living in the area, there are limits to how it's happening in the county.
His center will make the process smoother. Hearn talked about what powers his process: unconditional love.
Hearn talked about how God moved him to a place of that love. More was discussed on the broadcast.
The full interview with Hearn is on the "Around The Table" Facebook Page.
