The Daughters of the American Revolution have an event coming up.
Tonya Sherbourne and Regent Laurie Cowling from the organization appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" on Monday to discuss it. It's a Fourth of July celebration called "Let Freedom Ring." The event will occur at 11 a.m. on the Harrison Sqaure's gazebo on July 4.
It will open with flag ceremony by the local Boy Scouts, troop 60. A couple revolutionary soldiers will feature in the procession.
Additionally, a "town crier" will speak about the approaching 250 anniversary of the United States of America. One of the guests explained that DAR in Arkansas and specifically their chapter helps Veterans.
This year's event will also hold time to honor Korean War Veterans. More was discussed on the broadcast.
