The Cooking for Kids event is coming up on Oct. 14 on the east side of the Square.
Mary Jean Creager and Liz Witt appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" on Thursday to discuss the cash only grilling competition event, which is in its fifth year as of this year. It will benefit the Children's Charity Ministry and the Harrison Police Department.
The event will have grilling. $25 is required to enter to grill by Oct. 10. It's $35 if people wait until Oct. 11 through Oct. 13; checks can be used to enter.
The only meat that's judged is pork butt, but Creager said grillers can grill whatever they want to grill for tips. More grillers are needed, but any business owners who sell barbecue are prohibited from entering.
Creager explained that she loves kids and gets along with them more so than she does adults. Anyone wanting to enter should contact Harrison's Chamber of Commerce and CVB or Creager.
The Chamber and CVB can be reached at 870-741-1789. Creager herself is available at 870-741-3645.
The full interview with Creager and Witt is on the "Around The Table" Facebook Page.
