Besides the issues that Stone County Voters will see on the ballot during next Tuesday's Missouri Municipal Election, several contested races will also be decided.
Kimberling City will have a pair of contested races for Mayor as incumbent Bob Fritz is being challenged by Justin Braden while Ward 2 Alderman Phil Korem will face challenger Michele Hodges. Ward 1 Alderman Christian Martin is running unopposed.
There is a contested race in Crane for Ward 2 Alderman between Gary Hoffman and Ray Hicks.
Two villages will have a slate of candidates to elect to three positions on their respective Board of Trustees. In Indian Point, the candidates are Karen Hopkins, Keith Swank, Denise Petersen, Rose Hoynacki, Bryan Battaglia, Sara Abrams, and Tommy Wilks while in Water's Edge, the candidates are Patricia Brady, Gayle Willey, Cindy Hedgpeth, and Debrah Ward.
The only school district primarily in Stone County that has a contested Board of Education Race is in Hurley, where voters will choose three people for the board from candidates Billy Coleman, Karina Flood, Ladona Wilson, and Ryan Conrad.
Early voting continues at the Stone County Courthouse in Galena through next Monday with polls open Election Day from 6:00 am to 7:00 pm.
