COFAM is partnering with Brent Nelson for the Children's Barbeque Cook Off, according to Kelly Lofton.
Lofton and Nelson appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" to discuss the event. It's during the 40th annual Harvest Homecoming on Oct. 5. It will run from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. The cook-off will raise money for Children's Charity Ministry (CCM) which feeds and provides for kids. For $10, community members can attend and taste all of the barbeque and vote for their top choice.
Nelson said seven teams are signed up for it. He hopes three more will join. Barbeque cooks can join in the fun for $35 until Thursday, and then the price jumps to $50.
Nelson explained that Harrison councilwoman Mary-Jean Creager started the cook-off. He inquired about the event and ended up in charge of it.
Over 100 vendors are registered for the homecoming event. Later, Lofton provided a schedule for the day. More was discussed on the broadcast.
The full interview with Lofton and Nelson is on the "Around The Table" Facebook Page.
