Charges Filed in 2024 Death of Marion County Woman

A man has been arrested following an investigation into the death of a woman in 2024 originally ruled accidental.

Marion County Sheriff Gregg Alexander says in a press release that an investigation between the Sheriff's Department and the Arkansas State Police has led to the arrest of Michael Moore of Flippin.

Moore called Marion County Deputies in April of 2024 saying he found Alisha Marie Gauger unresponsive at their residence on Marion County Road 7057. The autopsy of Gauger's body indicated she had five different types of drugs including Fentanyl in her system and ruled the death accidental.

The investigation however continued and evidence was uncovered that implicated Moore in the victim's death. The release did not specify what evidence led to the arrest.

Moore was arrested Friday and charged with felony counts of Manslaughter, Tampering with Evidence, and Maintaining a Drug Premises. He was  released after posting a $25,000 Bond.
