Charges Filed For June Fire at Countryside Assisted Living

A woman who was a resident of Countryside Assisted Living is charged with intentionally starting a fire at the facility in June.

According to court documents filed by the Harrison Fire Department, 28-year-old Samantha Rae Hill had been staying at the facility voluntarily when she was alleged to have barricaded herself in her room and started setting items on fire. Facility employees tried to get in the room to stop the fire but could not gain entrance until emergency personnel arrived at the scene. The documents added that Hill had made statements that she wanted to harm some of the staff and residents of Countryside with the fire. 

Damage to the facility was around $5,000 according to the document. 

Hill is facing 16 charges for the incident including Aron, Aggravated Assault, and Terroristic Threatening. She is being held on a $10,000 Bond at the Boone County Detention Center. Hill is scheduled for an appearance in Boone County Circuit Court on August 10.
