Charges are filed last week in conjunction with an incident that occurred in May.
According to the probable cause affidavit filed by the Boone County Sheriff's Office, 49-year-old Charles Seagraves of Harrison was seen by a witness inappropriately touching the 14-year-old daughter of his girlfriend. Deputies located the vehicle and made a traffic stop at which time the female vehicle exited Seagraves vehicle and ran to the patrol vehicle. Seagraves initially resisted arrest when confronted but was eventually taken into custody. Seagraves was also discovered to be in possession of a controlled substance.
Seagraves is facing felony charges of Sexual Assault and Battery as well as several misdemeanor charges. Seagraves has a lengthy criminal history and is expected to be charged as a habitual offender.
Seagraves is currently in the Boone County Jail on a $15,000 bond.
