The Carter Grace Foundation will serve meals again this Thanksgiving, according to Bob Brown.
Brown appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" on Monday to talk about it. On Nov. 27, the foundation aims to hand out 800 Thanksgiving meals starting at 11 a.m. while dinners are available. That will happen at 675 East Highway 43, Harrison AR, 72601.
A Facebook post by the foundation provides the following information:
We will be offering free Thanksgiving Dinners once again this year. These meals are hot and ready. Please share and let anyone who may need a little blessing this year know to come by and see us. The address is on the flyer below. If you drive past Millbrook towards hwy 7 you will spot some of our team members directing traffic. We will have it above Millbrook at the top of the hill on the left.
Thank you and see you in a few weeks.
Brown said that the local business owners launched the foundation about 10 years ago. In short, their goal was to use their own resources to come to the aid of people in need. He explained that it provides help that government funded programs can't because the only boundaries Carter Grace has are self-imposed rather than imposed by the government.
Brown summed up the mission this way: See a need and meet a need. Anyone wanting more information can call Brown at 870-302-9354. More was discussed on the broadcast.
