Camp Jack's food pantry will remain open on Memorial Day, according to Callie Mondy.
Mondy appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" on Tuesday to provide that update and more. The pantry is located on the annex on the Square. Mondy said that is next to the "old Dental Creations." The hours for the food pantry are Monday at around 4 pm. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. It serves veterans and their families; caretakers are allowed to pick up food for their clients.
Mondy added that the pantry doesn't just have food. It has furnishing and clothing. She also talked about the Boone County War Memorial Association's program.
The 11 a.m. ceremony will occur on the Square. Mondy said representatives from a variety of local places will attend. The First Baptist Church choir will sing.
Anyone wanting to help prepare flags for the tradition can do so at 7 a.m. Mondy said about 100 flags are going to stand. More was discussed during the broadcast.
