Camp Jack led this year’s 9/11 ceremony; the fire department normally handles it, but following a mandate from county judges, Camp Jack got involved.
Callie Mondy from Camp Jack spoke with KHOZ’s Around The Table on Friday about the ceremony. Mondy said they “piggybacked” with a group of local runners and followed behind them in a side by side Yamaha. The run was eight plus miles. “We were just honored to support them in that way,” Mondy said.
Mondy is a Veteran. She said she and her husband were in Virginia for military training when the attacks on the World Trade Center happened. A few years later, Mondy and her husband did a tour in Iraq. “We will always remember that day [9/11],” she said.
The full interview with Mondy is on Around The Table’s Facebook Page.
