JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. – The Missouri Department of Agriculture wants residents to support local farmers this holiday season by buying Missouri Grown products.
The Missouri Grown USA initiative showcases local products grown instate.
Although quantities are limited and likely to sell out, the department is promoting home-grown products by selling Missouri Grown gift boxes featuring seven different products from farms across the state.
“We send a lot of these out of state,” said Chris Chinn, director of the Missouri Department of Agriculture. “Family members who aren’t able to travel home or they’ve had a family member who’s moved out of state, they like to send a taste of home to their family members.”
