The extended period of dry weather has caused many area counties and communities to issue Burn Bans.
According to the map posted by the Arkansas Department of Agriculture on Wednesday, Carroll, Madison, Newton, and Searcy Counties are all under bans as issued by the County Judges. In addition, late Wednesday afternoon, a post on the Marion County Facebook page indicated that Judge Robert Massey had issued a ban for that county. To this point, Boone County is one of only a handful in the state that does not have a Burn Ban Order in place.
In counties where the bans are in place, no outdoor burning is permitted until a substantial amount of rainfall takes place. No rain is expected in the region through early next week.
