The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will be closing Arkansas Highway 178 across Bull Shoals Dam this week to deploy and remove equipment used to perform maintenance on the dam’s sluice gates.
The closure has been coordinated with local emergency and law enforcement agencies. The roadway will close the Monday morning and reopen Tuesday evening.
Motorists are advised to plan an alternate route during the closure. Alternate routes include using Hwy. 178 and Arkansas Highway 5 to Arkansas Highway 126 through Midway and Gassville; U.S. Highway 62-412 through Flippin; and Hwy. 178 through the town of Bull Shoals.
