Briggs School of Music Recital on Thursday

Briggs School of Music has a recital coming up on May 23.

Amy Briggs appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" on Monday to talk about the school and the recital. The concert is at First Baptist Church at 6 p.m.

Briggs was the music director at the First Presbyterian Church when she started offering lessons to students. She had three her first her.

The school has close to 45 students now. That growth created the need for another teacher.

Briggs is a classically trained pianist and violinist and shares the teaching responsibility with Blair Gwen; Gwen instructs 12 of the students. The music school is only for kids.

The music school founder said that the school accepts students from age five to 18.

The teacher offers lessons in several instruments. That includes cello, violin, viola, and piano.

Briggs will have slots available in the summer and is accepting new students. Anyone wanting to reach her to inquire about lessons can call 870-577-2584. More was discussed on the broadcast.
