Jerrica Cheek is the new youth coordinator at Boone County Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition.
Cheek has a military background. "I was in the Marine Corps, and I've just always really had a passion for drug prevention," Cheek said Wednesday during KHOZ's "Around The Table" show. She said when she exited the military she was looking for "my path" and when she saw the opportunities in drug prevention, she knew it was for here.
She will work with the drug free communities program as well as working in Boone County Schools. Dan Dillard from the coalition introduced Cheek on Wednesday during KHOZ's "Around The Table" show. Later, they discussed an upcoming town hall event scheduled for May 31.
The full interview with Cheek and Dillard is on the "Around The Table" Facebook Page.
