As low humidity continues to combine with warm air and windy conditions, an area county has decided to issue a burn ban.
The order came Wednesday morning from Boone County Judge Robert Hathaway, who said in a release, "After speaking with my Fire Coordinator, Office of Emergency Management, and the Forestry Commission, I have issued a BURN BAN as of today, March 12, 2025, for all of Boone County."
The release goes on to say that ban will remain in effect until further notice.
Officials in both Arkansas and Missouri are discouraging outdoor burning through the week and Boone County joins the community of Bull Shoals in Marion County issuing a burn ban.
