Book Sale and Best-Selling Author Nancy Allen Coming to Boone County Library

Boone County Library has several events coming up including a book sale this weekend; also, best-selling author Nancy Allen will be at the library on Oct. 14.

Rebecca Force from the Boone County Library spoke with KHOZ’s Around The Table on Tuesday about the upcoming events. The Friends of the Library book sale will be at the Duran Center this weekend from Oct. 7-9. “Their typical schedule is 9 to 7 on Thursday,” Force said. She added that the beginning of the sale from 9 to noon is for members only. Memberships can be obtained at the sale. Following the members-only time, the sale opens to the public from noon to 7. “Friday is 9 to 5, and Saturday is 9 to 3,” Force said when discussing the sale times for each day of the sale.

The library membership has multiple levels with the lowest being $5. Memberships purchases benefit the library and memberships provide year-round support of the library. The library is volunteered-based.

Force said there is a huge selection of books at the sale from kid’s books, fiction and nonfiction. Aside from the sale, the library is also hosting Harrison Art League’s Artistic Expressions art show. The art show runs through all of October.

Nancy Allen, who has written with James Patterson, will be at the library on Oct. 14 at 5:30 p.m. Force discussed other events as well. The full interview with Force is on Around The Table’s Facebook Page.
