The Arkansas Department of Health has issued a pair of Boil Water Orders for two areas of Searcy County.
The orders were issued on Tuesday for the Leslie Water System on old Highway 66 and for West Stone County Water Association customers along Hwy 66 and all side roads, including Hwy 263 South to Old Brewer Rd and Hwy 9 South to Shirley.
Both Boil Orders are due to a Pump Malfunction according to the Department of Health.
Parts of Izard and Stone Counties are also under Boil Orders for similar reasons.
Water used for drinking or food preparation should be boiled briskly for one minute prior to use to avoid possible illnesses due to contamination. All ice cubes should be discarded and only boiled water used for making ice.
