Boil Order Remains in Effect for parts of Newton County

An area Water Association remains under a Boil Water Order.

According to the Arkansas Department of Health, a boil order is still in effect for the East Newton County Water Association. The order was issued Jan. 30 due to a main break. The advisory affects the area of Norton’s Country Store going north on Highway 123 and ending at the Buffalo River.

All customers are advised the water may be unsafe for human consumption, and water used for drinking or food preparation must be boiled briskly for one minute prior to use.

All ice cubes should be discarded, and only boiled water used for making ice.
