Earlier this summer the discount chain Big Lots announced plans to close about 40 stores across the summer due to lagging sales. But late last week, the chain announced on its website the number of stores they are closing is now almost 300.
According to a story by KTLO, the closings are not impacting local stores currently including the Big Lots’ location in Harrison, which is not on the closure list. The Big Lots location in Mountain Home is also scheduled to stay open.
The nearest Big Lots locations in Missouri are two stores in Springfield which are also slated to remain open according to the retailer.
