It is a big day with two major events going on in the Lakes Region.
Silver Dollar City is unveiling what they are saying is the most ambitious project ever in a ceremony later this morning. In announcements leading up to the event, they are calling this morning’s presentation the Marvel Cave Mining Company Town Hall.
The attraction is expected to take the place of the Thunderation Roller Coaster which officials announced would be closing at the end of the season.
Josh and Kevin from The Upside have continuing coverage of the event at Silver Dollar City leading up to the announcement at 9:30.
Meanwhile the other big event of the day is happening in Harrison, as this morning at 10:00, city officials along with officials from the Arkansas Department of Transportation will hold a dedication ceremony along with a ribbon cutting to open the new 65 B Bridge over Crooked Creek.
The bridge has been closed since 2024 for reconstruction, with the new structure featuring wider travel lanes, a dedicated center turning lane, a traffic signal, and expanded sidewalks on both sides of the bridge.
People wishing to attend the ceremony on the south side of the bridge are reminded that parking is available at Creekside with shuttle service getting people to the site of the dedication.
