Heath Kirkpatrick was a guest host on KHOZ’s Around The Table on Thursday; Kirkpatrick discussed the Boone County Quorum Court.
Kirkpatrick said there has not been any official discussion about mask mandates or closures returning. “There’s not been any official discussion on that because we are kind of consumed right now with finding a new home with the Federal Building.” He described the building as “decrepit.”
He said he has seen 159 photos showing its cracks. “It’s awful. I mean it is in really bad shape, and we’ve got to do something. We’ve got to something where it is close to downtown,” he said. He acknowledged that what is considered downtown is shifting. “There’s not a lot of commercial space available,” he said. He said they need “a lot of space” and that it “would be nice to have everybody in one area.” Purchasing Crocket Tower is still “on the table.” Kirkpatrick said that would more than meet the County’s needs. He said it “looks like the best option.”
The full show featuring Kirkpatrick is available on Around The Table’s Facebook Page.
