The Arkansas State Police says a search is on for the person responsible for a hit and run accident.

The Arkansas State Police (ASP) is investigating a fatal pedestrian accident that occurred in the early morning hours of Saturday, August 23, 2025, on Highway 187 near Nightingale Road, north of Eureka Springs.
At approximately 2:45 a.m., ASP Troopers responded to reports of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. Upon arrival, Troopers confirmed one fatality at the scene. The Carroll County Coroner pronounced the victim deceased around 3:30 a.m. The identity of the victim is pending notification of the next of kin.
The vehicle involved in the incident is described as a newer model white Chevrolet pickup. ASP is actively looking for help from the public to locate this vehicle. Anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident or who has information relevant to the investigation is encouraged to contact Troop L at (479) 751-6663.
