Ashley's K9 Creations offers "peace of mind" that dogs will have healthy snacks to eat, according to Ashley Keymer.
Ashley's K9 Creations owner Ashley Keymer appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" to talk about her business that provides healthy, organic snacks for dogs. These baked, organic treats are good for at least seven days and 10 days max if they aren't refrigerated; if they are refrigerated, they can last for a month, she said.
She began making dog treats after taking her dog store to get treats and toys. Keymer made a discovery that inspired the birth of the business; originally, she thought of it as a side business.
She credits Pinterest with helping her get her creative juices flowing.
Keymer said she read the back of the treat bags and found that there were over 20 ingredients in the treats. "And I thought 'what is my dog actually eating?'" Her answer was to start the business.
Keymer said her first week saw 10 bags of treats sold. This led her to thinking of different flavors.
She provides frozen treats for the summer as well as year-round hard and soft treats. The business owner still works another job but said it would "be a dream" to run her dog treat business full-time.
Later, Keymer discussed the possibilities for growth and more. More information about Ashley's K9 Creations is available on Facebook.
