Local Harrison, Arkansas artist Abri Mendez is making a mural.
Mendez appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" on Monday to discuss the mural and more. The mural is nearly complete. Mendez said it's located on Phillips Media Group's southside. The entire mural isn't visible from the road.
The artist said she began working on the artwork two weeks ago. "I spent about six days on it, total right now, and I'm almost finished with it," Mendez said.
Mendez recalled that she got her start in art at a young age. Now, she sells her work online and has some of it in a shop in Jasper, Arkansas. She has also sold some of her art at local comic conventions.
In addition, Mendez takes commissioned work but said that she doesn't have a lot of time right now. Anyone wanting to see her work or contact her can do so online. More was discussed on the broadcast.
The full interview with Mendez is available on the "Around The Table" Facebook Page.
