Arkansas Representative Aaron Pilkington spoke Thursday about bills he has filed to expand healthcare coverage.
Pilkington discussed the topic during KHOZ's "Around The Table" broadcast on Thursday. The proposed healthcare coverage would benefit pregnant women and make companies that pay for abortions also pay maternity leave. He said is of importance to him and that his family is in the industry; he said he also has a background in healthcare. He added that women and children's health hasn't performed well and that he wants to work on improving it. The Arkansas representative also discussed pro-life developments.
He said a lot of people who get abortions do so several times, and he said providing alternatives like the paid family leave bill would assist women who want to keep their child. He spoke out against businesses who he said incentivize abortion but don't accommodate women wanting to keep their baby.
All of this and more was discussed on the broadcast.
The full interview Pilkington is on the "Around The Table" Facebook Page.
