With the upcoming Winter Storm, the governors of Arkansas and Missouri have declared a state of emergency.
Sarah Huckabee-Sanders and Mike Kehoe made those official declarations on Thursday.
Sanders says her declaration will direct the sum of $250,000 to be obligated from the Governor’s Disaster Response and Recovery Fund, to be used at the discretion of the Director of the Arkansas Division of Emergency Management to defray both program and administrative costs. The declaration also allows vehicles critical to infrastructure maintenance to bypass all Arkansas Department of Transportation weigh station facilities through February 23.
Kehoe’s declaration activates the Missouri National Guard for storm aid assistance and also implements the Missouri State Emergency Operations Plan.
Winter Storm Fern will impact both states over the weekend.
