A grant from the Arkansas Department of Agriculture will help an area Sewer District with a rehabilitation project.
According to a press release, the Department's Natural Resources Commission is issuing a loan and a grant to the Marble Falls Sewer Improvement District in Newton County for improvements to both the wastewater system and the treatment plant in the district. The loan is in the amount of $609,614 while the grant total is $1 million from the Water Sewer Solid Waste Fund Program. This project will aid the current customer base of 24 users plus help with future growth.
This is part of over $47 million in funds to a total of four counties in the state going to wastewater improvements.
