Several Sheriff Departments in the Arkansas 14th Judicial District receive new equipment thanks to proceeds from seized property.
According to the information posted by KTLO, the Baxter County Sheriff’s Office has taken possession of seven new 12 gauge pump shotguns to be used to equip patrol vehicles.
Sheriff John Montgomery says the shotguns were purchased and provided by the Office of 14th Judicial District Prosecuting Attorney David Ethredge. Sheriff Montgomery says the shotguns will replace older models, which will be repurposed.
Baxter County is the latest recipient of equipment from the prosecuting attorney’s office.
Ethredge says new shotguns have been purchased for the sheriffs’ offices in Marion and Boone counties. Other needed tools were purchased for the Newton County Sheriff’s Office.
The equipment was purchased with proceeds from property seized from convicted criminals.
