Area Police Chief Re-elected to Head State Organization

A local police chief has been reelected as president of the Arkansas Association of Chiefs of Police.

Bull Shoals Police Chief Jim Kuchenbecker has been re-elected as president for the 2021-2022 term. Chief Kuchenbecker resumed his duties as president immediately following the vote on Sept. 28 and will serve for the next year.

Founded in 1967, the Arkansas Association of Chiefs of Police (AACOP) has been the face and voice of professional law enforcement executives for over 50 years. The AACOP has well over 300 active members, representing over 200 Arkansas law enforcement agencies.

The AACOP promotes advances in the science of police administration, community policing and crime prevention through the development and dissemination of the best professional, administrative practices, while fostering an environment rich in cooperation and information exchange throughout Arkansas and the nation. Additionally, the AACOP is well recognized and respected amongst the Arkansas Legislature and often works alongside members to draft and enact legislation and push creative initiatives to benefit law enforcement and communities throughout Arkansas.

Chief Kuchenbecker says, “I am honored and humbled to be re-nominated and reelected to represent my peers and mostly the hard working, courageous men and women who continue to serve in communities throughout the State of Arkansas.”

Also, Lakeview Chief of Police David R. Hotchkiss Jr. was elected to the position of second vice president of the association. Chief Hotchkiss will ascend to the presidency of the association in 2024.
