The sixth annual Alpena Haunted Hayride is on Oct. 17, 18, 24 and 25 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Alpena Community Center.
Jody Marshall and Sheila Bourquin appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" to discuss it. The family-friendly fall event is a fundraiser. It costs $5 per person to take close to a 20-minute ride on the mile long paved track. The proceeds will help fund the Alpena community fireworks display.
The ride is designed to scare. Marshall and Bourquin explained what visuals are used. The ride will show mild blood as well as chainsaws. It also includes animatronics, but it features even more volunteer performers.
Marshall said that a group of about 10 to 15 people play characters. Screams occur throughout the hayride. More was discussed on the broadcast.
The full interview with Marshall and Bourquin is on the "Around The Table" Facebook page.
