Mary Mother of God Catholic Church's Lenten concert is coming up soon, according to Julie Jasper.
Jasper appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" on Monday to talk about the concert. Jasper is the church's music minister. She provided details about the concert.
It's scheduled for April 13; that's Palm Sunday. Jasper said it starts at 4 p.m. It's not a really a concert.
"It's more of a prayer service," Jasper said. She explained that while it's called a concert, features such as scripture reading make it something more.
The scripture readings have a theme. Jasper said they are "based on the seven last words of Christ." Music sits nestled between those readings.
That music comes from the church's choir and other performers, some of them local musicians. More was discussed on the broadcast.
The full interview with Jasper is on the "Around The Table" Facebook Page.
