Foundation Tables is a nonprofit that serves food and more to people, according to Tim Randall.
Randell and volunteer Jeff Pote appeared on KHOZ's "Around The Table" on Tuesday to discuss it. He explained that the nonprofit was birthed out of a desire for pancakes. He made too many pancakes, and he decided to give them away.
Now, they feed people on Tuesday and Thursday at Minnie Harris Park from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. The group has a building and recently obtained a business license for a thrift store.
That store will sponsor their food service. The group also provides a clothing wash once a month. Randell said they started meeting that need after an interaction with a lady who didn't have a washer and dryer.
That part of the service is experiencing growth. That's not all.
Randell said his wife launched a clothing drive for children. She gathered 55 sponsors to provide new clothes for kids.
People showed up wanting food at that point in November. It's grown since.
Randell is available by phone at 417-294-7371. More was discussed on the broadcast.
